Introducing SAS University Edition

Free, hands-on data analytics workshop for Minnesota State College and University faculty, introducing SAS University Edition – your opportunity to explore and enhance your analytics skills on a widely recognized industry platform.

Participants will learn menu-driven tasks and SAS code in SAS University Edition to perform common data analytics tasks, such as querying, reporting, and analyzing data. SAS University Edition provides a SAS graphical point-and-click interface that will help you harness the power of SAS for data analysis.  In this workshop, you will learn to access your data, combine tables, compute new variables, explore data with simple statistics and graphs, and perform sophisticated statistical analyses with SAS University Edition.

Participant resources?

Participants will be provided access to SAS University Edition and complimentary electronic course notes but are required to bring their laptop for this workshop.

About Instructor

Jaymie Shanahan obtained her Master of Science degree in Biostatistics, from the University of South Carolina. She earned her BA in Mathematics (Statistics Minor) from Elon University. Shanahan’s interests include public health, data mining, survival analysis, and SAS programming. She began her career at SAS Institute in 2012 as an Analytical Software Tester for the SAS/STAT product. She moved to an Analytical Consulting role where she was responsible for delivering solutions for various SAS customers interested in forecasting and optimizing revenue management. Now, as part of the Global Academic Program at SAS, Shanahan provides consulting around the country to universities, community colleges, and high schools by teaching faculty and students how to use SAS Software.
