IT Exploration 2.0: Training Experiences for Secondary Education Teachers

Over the past several years, Advance IT has partnered with teachers and schools across Minnesota to offer a unique introductory course intended to give high school students exposure to the IT-related careers and educational pathways available to them.  Coming Fall 2017, a new and improved version of the IT Exploration curriculum will be launched.  The course content, online tools, and exercises will be offered on an educational platform provided through a partnership with Minnesota-based STEM Fuse. Learn more about this innovative IT Exploration curriculum.

As part of this launch, in June, 2017, we are offering teachers two complementary training options. Sign up for one or both, depending upon your needs.

Learn to Teach IT Exploration 2.0 – In-person Training

Are you new to IT Exploration, or an experienced IT Exploration teacher in need of a refresher, or are interested in learning about the features of the new platform? This training will help you to utilize the curriculum and user-friendly platform.  The workshop is designed to be hands-on, and you will experience first-hand how easy it can be to provide instruction and lead exercises and assignments related to each of the topic areas using the STEM Fuse platform.

Participants will be introduced to the five modules: Application Development, System Administration, Security, Analytics, and Game Design through hands-on learning.

By completing the daylong training, you will earn 6 CEUs.
