D.R.I.V.E is for Women and Men Seeking to REBOOT their careers into I.T. and computing disciplines

D.R.I.V.E. is Discovery and Recruitment for Information Vocations and Education.

Advance IT Minnesota, a MnSCU Center of Excellence in IT and Security, in collaboration with Ramsey County Workforce Solutions, engages learners in information career pathways to develop introductory skills expected in these occupations. The D.R.I.V.E program adapts Advance IT Minnesota’s existing IT Exploration curriculum to deliver career pathways information and training in basic skills in th areas of programming, administration, security and analytics.

Learners are recruited by Ramsey County Workforce Solutions through multiple channels including the Job Connect network, Career 101 Workshops, direct communication with customers, and partnerships with adult basic education consortia and regional workforce entities. The recruitment targets a number of Perkins’ special populations including disabled individuals, females, economically disadvantaged, English Language Learners, and single parents.

Why?

There is an urgent need to deliver a bridge course which is a broad-based introduction to IT and computing disciplines and occupations, especially to non-traditional and underserved learners across the region.

How?

Advance IT Minnesota, a MnSCU Center of Excellence in IT and Security, in collaboration with Ramsey County Workforce Solutions, proposes to engage learners in information career pathways and develop introductory skills expected in these occupations.
